Flexout Audio is a London based record label established in 2011 owned and run by label founder, Tom Bassi and recent 2017 team addition, Andy Tweedale (formerly one half of Amoss).

The label’s sound has always specialised in the deeper, darker side of Drum and Bass music, now being recognised in the scene as a key advocate of the growing sound of stripped back, yet intensely heavy beats.

Home to early releases from the likes of Philth, Ed:It, Hyroglifics, Arkaik, Mystic State, and Monty, Flexout, in the words of UKF: "basically your favourite label’s favourite label… A place where new talent is nurtured, encouraged, supported…"

Over the the last few years, Flexout Audio has continued to go from strength to strength with a slew of releases from the ever growing roster of artistsinternational label events and a continued driven approach to pushing the style that makes Flexout Audio stand out as an individual force within Drum and Bass.

Flexout began in 2008 whilst I was at University in Lincoln. I won a competition that gave me some money to start my own “business” (I was surprised I won as my business idea was just to put on Drum and Bass nights at the Student Union) so I started my Drum and Bass career as a promoter putting on some great events with my friend Jon (DJ Apocalypse) at ‘Engine Shed’ in Lincoln.

Jon was a producer and always had plans to start his own imprint to release music from our friends. In 2010 Jon unexpectedly passed away and it was then that I took his dream of starting a record label and ran with it alongside his best friend Stephen Dampier who worked with me until 2013.

With an initial ethos to simply release music from our circle of friends the label developed its sound over the years and became synonymous with deep, underground drum and bass music pushing innovative new artists from around the world. In 2017 I realised I needed help to push the label to the next level, give the artists the recognition and development they deserved, so I invited my best friend Andy Tweedale to co-own and run the label with me.

As we look forward into 2019 we continue to concentrate on developing our core set of artists and push the best in underground Drum and Bass music.
