Phentix

Phentix

Phentix has music in his DNA. He is considered one of the most detailed and futuristic sounding producers in contemporary Drum & Bass. Early influences shine through his layered, intricate productions. Phentix has had his music picked up and released by Critical Music, Cyberfunk, Mainframe Recordings and Flexout Audio. Support for his talents has been wide-ranging including Noisia, Xtrah, Kasra and Mefjus.

Phentix grew up around the family record store where he first learned to play the drums and guitar. In 2007, having been drawn to the sound of drum and bass, he began to experiment in producing electronic music. In 2010 he founded ‘Soundkistm Crew’ with friends and also joined ‘VorteilsPack’. The ‘Sound in Motion’ party crews served as an apprenticeship for Phentix to learn his djing craft and test out productions. In 2015 his track ‘Hoax’ for the ‘Matriarch EP’ on Xtrah’s imprint Cyberfunk was released alongside inspirations Mefjus, Xtrah and Incognito. His 2016 debut EP ‘Pitch Black’ on Cyberfunk was released to critical acclaim. ‘Onset’ as part of Signal’s (IMANU) EP ‘Systems 004’ and the highly regarded ‘Wrong Door’ with Monty on Critical Music, brought Phentix great respect in the scene.

Phentix’s DJ sets are equally as submersive as his productions. He expertly delivers premium, driving sonic experiences. He’s inside these stealthy cuts and he’s taking you with him. Attention to detail, deep rolling bass and purring, pneumatic grooves are always in full effect. He has appeared on huge lineups and shared top billing with artists such as Friction, Breakage, QZB, Phace, Amoss and Bredren.
